The Dereham and District Team Ministry is prayerfully seeking a Team Vicar with responsibility for three rural parishes of Swanton Morley, Hoe and Beetley with East Bilney.
The vision of the benefice is to
- Centre our worship and discipleship on Jesus, and hope to be at the centre of our communities, offering places of welcome, prayer and worship
- Extend our outreach to the community and attract people of all ages to a welcoming, worshipping, caring environment
- Develop opportunities for teaching and faith-building
- Deepen our commitment to safeguarding and care for creation
- Encourage participation of the laity and community members as widely as possible
We are seeking a priest to
- Help to grow the church into the community and the community into the church
- Embrace a variety of forms of worship, both traditional and modern
- Strengthen faith through thoughtful preaching
- Develop and expand the work with the village primary schools by leading Collective Worship and welcoming Swanton Morley school to their church
- Lead Bible Study
- Work together with the PCCs in shared commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
- Work with the PCCs so that the parishes become financially viable for the future
- See beyond the existing service patterns and start at least one new worshipping community within 3 years
- Be an enthusiastic team player within the wider benefice
