What an amazing gift of generosity

An unrestricted legacy has enabled St Mary Magdalen church on Silver Road in Norwich to continue its mission and ministry to God’s glory. The generous legacy has enabled the church to move forward without any debt. The person who left the legacy has left more than a financial legacy, they will be remembered for a long time to come.

St. Mary Magdalene was the grateful recipient of a large legacy from a former priest who died in 2018. There were, helpfully, no stipulations as to how it should be spent and so the PCC was able to decide on priorities and have some essential work carried out.

Part of the legacy was used to re-tarmac and white line the car park, a real blessing as it was in an awful state beforehand. The major part of the legacy was set aside for the building works that were started in the Autumn of 2024 and were completed earlier this year. It was essential work to restore the integrity of the building. It means that we can continue in mission and ministry to God’s glory, secure in our building and without any debt.

We are very grateful to the person who was so generous and we fully acknowledge that her part of the mission of the church carries on. May she rest in peace and rise in glory.
