The Ofsted report, one step off ‘Outstanding,’ is highly praising of Whitefriars Church of England Academy where pupils flourish and its warm and nurturing relationships between staff and pupils sits at the heart of the schools’ success.
In the report that was carried out in November, it notes that curriculum planning is thorough and detailed, and pupils’ personal development is promoted extensively throughout the school. It says that pupils in all year groups behave exceptionally well in lessons and around the school and that they demonstrate high levels of respect and kindness towards each other; pupils have very positive attitudes towards their learning and there is no disruption in lessons. It highlights that neither bullying nor unkindness is tolerated, and staff work closely with pupils to resolve any issues that do occur.
In response to the report, Mr Mat Tuckwood, headteacher of Whitefriars Church of England Academy said: “As a school, we are all proud of the report which emphasises what a wonderful learning community Whitefriars is. Everyone’s incredible hard work, which makes Whitefriars such a special place to be, was recognised in the report.”
