Seeing the World Differently with Brother Samuel

Monday 25 March 2019
7.30pm - 9pm
Venue: Norwich Cathedral, The Close, Norwich NR1 4DD
Franciscan Brother Sam is a well known speaker, retreat leader and known for his contribution to the prayer and community life of the Church. Listen to him speak about we can see the world differently.

Christian Aid is delighted to welcome Brother Sam as our guest speaker in The Weston Room at Norwich Cathedral.

Franciscan Brother Sam will explore how we can look at our world differently – seeing with new eyes that all we have is a gift of God and to be cherished. Our world is not just a warehouse of ‘stuff’ to be exploited. We can show love for each other and care for creation. Brother Sam was honoured by Archbishop Justin in 2016 for his outstanding commitment to the life of prayer of the Church and community life.

He has been particularly associated with Hilfield Friary in Dorset, where for the past ten years there has been a focus on the care of creation and sustainable living, shaped by the Franciscan tradition. He now lives at the Franciscan house in Plaistow, East London, which reaches out to those in need. Brother Sam also has a ministry of teaching, leading retreats and spiritual development. He is also a well know speaker.

When a vicar in Norfolk heard that Brother Sam was coming to speak he commented, "An amazing man and great speaker".

There will also be a short talk about Christian Aid Week and refreshments.
