Members of a church in Rollesby near Great Yarmouth hosted their first ever wedding fair in the building recently.
The first Rollesby Country Wedding Fair took place in St George’s Church on Saturday 26th February. Exhibitors from the local area came along including a photographer, a florist, a hair and beauty business, a stationary printer, a venue dresser, a cake maker, a pizza van, a wedding car specialist and even a magician. The wedding fair was the idea of PCC Secretary Rebecca Woods who saw the potential for the church building to host the event.
Revd Jo Wood, the Priest-in-Charge at St.George’s was also on hand for any church wedding enquiries and information. Revd Wood says;
It was a fantastic day and there was a lovely atmosphere as wedding couples and their families visited the wedding fair, as well as enjoying the beauty of our church building and the hospitality of our church team. We would definitely encourage other churches to consider such a venture – it raised much needed funds for the church, raised our profile as a church, created relationships with local businesses, and gave us confidence that we can use our church building for other activities. We are already planning another wedding fair for later in the Summer.
