The final charity open afternoon of the summer season is this Sunday July 26 when Vision Norfolk will be raising money for its work supporting people through sight loss.
The Bishop of Norwich opens his garden for local charities every spring and summer and the final open afternoon of the season is a chance to wander four acres of magnificent flowery walks and borders, a thriving kitchen garden and orchard and shady paths and bowers.
New this year are the redesigned and replanted White Garden, tucked into a corner of the ancient walls, revamped wildflower beds around the main lawn and a 16th century chapel, and sculptural edging created from wooden sleepers and ornamental holly hedging, throughout the vegetable garden.
The Vision Norfolk summer garden party will include a children’s treasure hunt, family activities, stalls and boccia on the lawn.
Last year 3,000 people visited the garden for the charity open afternoons, raising more than £20,000 for local good causes.
