Norfolk festival church among highlights of Heritage Open Days 2025

An open day exploring the rich history of St Peter’s Church in Haveringland will be among many events held at churches throughout Norfolk and Waveney as part of this year’s Heritage Open Days campaign.

The nationwide celebration of heritage and culture will take place between 12 and 21 September 2025, as our region’s varied array of church buildings once again prove a big draw for history-loving visitors.

Haveringland, which has recently undergone a major renovation, will play host to a launch event on Saturday 13 September featuring an expert talk, screenings, displays and activities – all examining the site’s role as a festival church and community hub, alongside the history of its Victorian rebuild and modern day repair and improvement project.

Churchwarden and Project Manager for Haveringland Together, Nigel Boldero, said:

“Haveringland has some fascinating tales to tell, and the Church is a wonderful focus for this. We are now opening it up as a Community Hub to meet a wide range of interests and needs and this Festival is just one of many events and activities that are planned before the end of the year.”
