Hear choirs singing in the Bishop of Norwich’s garden this Sunday May 18 when he opens it to the public in aid of Attleborough Music Project.
Visitors will be able to explore the historic four-acre garden in all its late spring glory as well as enjoying live music from the project’s children’s choir, AMP Voices, and the church choir, plus games, a children’s trail and refreshments.
Attleborough Music Project, run by St Mary’s Church in Attleborough, shares music across the town and into nearby communities. It runs an after-school children’s choir and, hosts concerts in the church and church hall, and plans include extending its musical outreach work and restoring the 100-year-old church organ.
The Bishop of Norwich and his wife open their garden to help local charities raise funds. It includes beautiful double borders backed by cloud-pruned yew, a new herb garden, a jungle walk, an orchard and wildflower labyrinth, a woodland path, lawns and a kitchen garden bursting with new life in beds, vegetable and fruit cages and greenhouses.
The garden will be open 1-4.30pm (last entry 4pm). Refreshments, plant sales. Admission £5, free for children and wheelchair-users. Assistance dogs only. Bishop’s Garden, Norwich, NR3 1SB.
