Palm Sunday this year was marked in traditional fashion throughout the towns and villages of Norfolk and Waveney, with processions winding their way through the streets en route to church services.
It has been uplifting to see a large numbers of people keen to gather for the beginning of Holy Week, with a range of pictures below sharing some of the highlights in our Diocese:

The Bishop of Lynn, the Rt Revd Dr Jane Steen, was in Fakenham for a Palm Sunday procession from the town’s Market Cross through to the parish church.

Gorleston
St Mary Magdalene Church in Gorleston hosted a service at which seven members of the congregation were baptised.

Norwich
Part of the annual tradition in Norwich city centre, a procession to the cathedral was led by a donkey.

Walsingham
Marking the start of Holy Week, the Benefice of Walsingham began proceedings in the picturesque surroundings of Walsingham Abbey.

Dickleburgh and The Pulhams
The churches which comprise the Dickleburgh and The Pulhams benefice gathered to start their Palm Sunday procession in Pulham Market.

Sheringham
A traditional procession through the streets of Sheringham led the congregation to a Palm Sunday Sunday at St Peter’s.
