Courageous Advocacy – How can you develop your pupil’s character and social action in school?

Thursday 14 March at 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

£60

This online briefing session will explore different tools and schemes to support you in character development and social action of your pupils.  We will begin by unpacking what courageous advocacy is and look at a range of guidance available to support your school in understanding this concept. We will then explore several schemes that offer different ‘ways in’ dependent on what your school needs.  These include Christian Aid’s Global Neighbours Scheme; The Archbishop of Young Leaders Award and the Dirt is Good Project. It will provide an overview to each scheme and the way your school can benefit.  Courageous advocacy and character development are key themes within the SIAMS Framework 2023 and are an important element for all schools in developing their pupil’s understanding of the world around them so this session will be crucial to your school being judged as at least good in a SIAMS inspection.

Audience: Head Teachers, Senior Leaders, Governors in ALL schools (Community, Church of England and Academies)
