Families at Cringleford CEVA Primary School are benefiting from a new pre-loved uniform shed, providing affordable school clothing while helping reduce waste and support sustainable choices.
Funded by the school’s PTA, the facility offers a permanent home for donated uniform and reflects the school’s commitment to serving its community through its Christian values of community, compassion and courage.
The shed was officially opened by Ben Goldsborough MP, Member of Parliament for South Norfolk, during a visit to the school on Thursday 9th October.
The project grew from the PTA’s long-running second-hand uniform scheme, which had previously relied on storage in volunteers’ homes and occasional sales. Over the past 18 months, volunteers secured support from local organisations, businesses and community members to create a permanent, accessible service for families.

Julia Humphrey, Headteacher, said:
“We are incredibly grateful to our PTA and the many volunteers, local organisations and businesses who have helped bring this project to life.
“The new pre-loved uniform shed is a wonderful example of our school community working together to support families, reduce waste and make the most of resources already available.
“This project reflects our school values of community, compassion and courage. We hope it will be a valued resource for many years to come.”
As part of the Diocese of Norwich family of church schools, Cringleford CEVA Primary School seeks to put faith into action through practical support for families and the wider community. The new uniform shed provides an accessible way for families to obtain school clothing while ensuring donated items remain in use for longer.
Chris Allen, Director of Education, Diocese of Norwich, said:
“The opening of the Uniform Shed at Cringleford CEVA Primary School is a wonderful example of a school community coming together to support both families and the environment. By providing access to affordable pre-loved uniform, the scheme will help ease the cost of school life for many parents while promoting sustainable choices and reducing waste.
“It demonstrates a practical commitment to caring for one another and for God’s creation. I have no doubt that the Uniform Shed will become a valued resource for families and a source of pride for the whole school community.”
