St Luke’s Church on Aylsham Road, Norwich are holding a coffee morning every first Tuesday of the month. They are hoping that the coffee mornings will be an oasis where Ukrainians and those supporting them can come, meet each other and support one another.
The Vicar the Revd Graham Kirk-Spriggs hopes that it will reach those feeling anxious or alone. He said: “It’s a very difficult time for those in our community, not only Ukrainians who’ve come here due to the war, but also those who’ve been here a long time. We want to provide a place where they can come, find solace, and support with one another. It was on our heart as a church that we provided something to help.”
The Church will be open from 10am – 12 noon beginning on Tuesday 7 June, for coffee, tea and conversation. All are welcome to attend!
Revd Graham added: “It would be really helpful if anyone who speaks Polish, Russian or Ukrainian in our community could come too, to help translate and spread the word.”
