Archdeacon of Norwich

The Venerable Keith James

Keith was born in New Zealand but his childhood was spent in the North West of England.  He studied Theology and Religious Studies at Leeds University, was later ordained in 1993 and has served in Lincoln and Worcester dioceses in parochial ministry in rural and urban settings.

He moved to Norwich in 2015 to be the Continuing Ministerial Development (CMD) officer for the diocese (80%) and Residentiary Canon of the Cathedral (20%).

In 2020, his Diocesan role changed to become Director of Ministry and in March 2022 he became Interim Archdeacon of Norwich in addition to being Director of Ministry (and so has temporarily stepped down from his Cathedral role).

He is married to Linda; a special needs teacher and they have three adult children.
