Team Rector – Barnham Broom and Upper Yare Benefice
The benefice of Barnham Broom and Upper Yare seek to witness in their rural communities to God’s love as revealed in Jesus.
This capable and well organised rural benefice seeks a Rector who will share in their love for rural Norfolk and bring warmth, energy and hope to its scattered but welcoming small communities.
The benefice is praying for a priest who will
- Be an incarnational presence, bringing warmth, energy and hope to our scattered but welcoming communities
- Nurture faith through care, prayer and presence
- Be open to creative family friendly approaches to worship, while valuing traditional liturgy and sensitive to rural rhythms
- Seek opportunities to build new worshipping communities through engagement with new people (e.g. through all age worship, Youth Café, Bubble church, outdoor worship etc.) and begin at least one new worshipping community in the first 3 years
- Encourage, equip and develop lay leaders and PCCs so that they might grow in confidence and faith
- Develop links with partnerships already at work in the community and be actively engaged in the schools
- Work together with the PCCs in shared commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
- Engage with the community through a regular social media presence
- See the church buildings as living places of worship, friendship and community at the heart of our parishes, offering welcome for all.
