Do you have strong editorial and multi-media skills with a background in journalism, PR and marketing or media relations?

Would you be excited about creating engaging and creative content which can help to connect and celebrate people across a wide geographical area? 

We’re looking for someone to help us support and celebrate the work taking place in the Church of England across Norfolk and Waveney.  

As Senior Communications Officer, you will play an integral part in delivering our key objective; to communicate the mission, ministry and values of the Diocese of Norwich.   

Reporting to the Communications Manager, our Communications strategy is to equip, celebrate and connect. 

  1. We want to equip people to do their job well in their local parish context.  
  2. We want to celebrate people through creative storytelling and personal voices. 
  3. We want to connect people to feel part of the wider mission and ministry here.

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree or professional qualification in journalism, communications, public relations or marketing.
  • Experience of advising senior leadership
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels
  • Ability to provide a positive and collaborative contribution to a team
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, and journalistic ability to source stories
  • Speaking and presentation skills. You’ll need sensitivity to the goals and values of the Diocese and be able to tell others
  • Strong IT skills, knowledge of WordPress, Microsoft, Instagram, Facebook, E-mail marketing systems (Constant Contact)
  • Using and being familiar with digital and video communication
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of the work
