You are invited – to Norwich service celebrating Christian unity

Christians from all traditions are invited to an ecumenical thanksgiving service in the Roman Catholic Cathedral on Sunday November 23.

Churches Together in Norfolk and Waveney invites people to celebrate the unity they share in Christ at its annual public service.

All are welcome, with a particular invitation to everyone actively involved in ecumenism locally.

County ecumenical officer Dr Ian Watson said the joyful service is an opportunity to gather as a Christian family and celebrate the fruits of a shared journey.

A year ago local church leaders signed a Declaration of Commitment for Christian Unity, at a service at Norwich Cathedral.

This affirmed their common faith, their common call to serve in God’s mission and the richness of their diverse traditions and gifts

Dr Watson said: “The theme drawn from the declaration ‘Together in Christ, Bound by Love, Serving as One’ reminds us that ecumenism is not just about words but the faithful joining hands in prayer, praise, and action.”

Churches Together in Norfolk and Waveney includes local leaders from Anglican, Roman Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, Salvation Army, United Reformed and Quaker traditions.

The annual ecumenical service with Churches Together in Norfolk and Waveney is at St John the Baptist Catholic Cathedral, Norwich, on Sunday November 23 – the Feast of Christ the King. All are welcome. Please be seated by 3.15pm for a 3.30pm start.
