The Archdeacon's Charge & Picnic
Bank Holiday Monday 1 May 2017
The Archdeacon's Charge is an annual sponsored fun run or walk, founded by the Venerable John Ashe, Archdeacon of Lynn, designed to be an easy way for parishes to raise money for their church (which will be allocated to their Parish Share) and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
This year's event will be held at Wolterton Hall whose new owners have generously invited us to enjoy their grounds.
We highly encourage booking in advance, but anyone is welcome to turn up on the day and pay at the gate.
The postcode for SatNav's is NR11 7LY and directions can be downloaded below:
Wolterton Hall was built for the first Lord Walpole in the 1740s. It lies in the Parish of Wickmere with Wolterton between Aylsham and Cromer. The view from the Hall, looking out over the lawns and to the lake across the route we will be taking, has been described as the finest view in Norfolk! All are welcome for another great event on the May Bank Holiday, Monday 1 May 2017, again setting off at 11am.
All are welcome to walk or to run or you can just come and enjoy the picnic and entertainment. We will again have a circuit of 2.5 miles so that you can choose your distance with a challenge to the fittest to run or walk four circuits (10 miles).
More details will be added to this web page as we get nearer to the day.
Royalty to open the event
We are delighted that Their Royal Highnesses’, Prince & Princess Michael of Kent, will be joining us for this year’s Archdeacon’s Charge & Picnic, as special guests of Peter Sheppard and Keith Day, the owners of Wolterton Hall.

Sponsor Archdeacon John
If you're not able to come to the event (or even if you are!) why not sponsor Archdeacon John to complete 10 miles on the day? Your support would be greatly appreciated.
