Chairman of the Diocesan Advisory Committee retires

12 December 2019

Alan Kefford was Chairman of the Diocese Advisory Committee for eight years and his retirement on Friday was marked with words of appreciation from Steven Betts.

During his tenure, Mr Kefford saw many changes, both in the composition of the committee but also some staff changes too. He accompanied DAC members on many of the site visits to churches where his warmth and humour made the parish representatives feel supported.

In retirement, he is hoping to have more time for golf and a greater freedom to travel with his wife Sheila when the fancy takes them.

He was presented with a Fortnum and Mason hamper containing, amongst other things, a bottle of single malt whisky and a bottle of gin. A separate gift, wrapped in architect’s drawings, contained a bottle of Norfolk whisky.
