“I find it hard to think that I’ve been the Bishop of Norwich for more than 19 years since it seems to have gone so quickly.
“Julie and I have lived here longer than anywhere else in our married life, so it will be a big wrench to leave Norfolk and Waveney, not just because of the big skies or the great occasions in the life of the Diocese, but because we’ve loved the warm-hearted people of this part of the world. People who love their communities, love their churches, love God, and believe in the transforming power of Jesus Christ in human life.
“So as we take our leave of you, we pray God’s blessing on all that the future holds for this wonderful, glorious, historic Diocese. Thank you for all that you’ve given to us; the support and love and care.
“God bless you all, and may the Diocese of Norwich flourish long into the future.”
