Three people have been licensed as Lay Ministers to serve in the Diocese of Norwich by the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Revd Graham Usher, with two others being welcomed into the Diocese.
The licensing took place on Saturday 21 September 2024 at Norwich Cathedral at 10.30am.
Bishop Graham licensed Ben Fiaz, to serve in the Taverham with Ringland Benefice in the Deanery of Norwich North. Sarah Spall is licensed to serve in the Lowestoft St Margaret Benefice in the Deanery of Lothingland and David Thompson is licensed to serve in the Costessey Benefice in the Deanery of Norwich South.
Meanwhile, Christopher Hammett and Tim Harle, who are already licensed as lay ministers, were officially welcomed into the Diocese.
Christopher is serving in the Nar Valley Benefice in the Deanery of Breckland and Tim is serving in Cringleford in the Deanery of Norwich South.
A Licensed Lay Minister is a voluntary minister authorised by the bishop to teach and preach, conduct worship and assist with the pastoral ministry of a church. You can read more about the role here: Licensed Lay Ministers – Diocese of Norwich
