The Bishop of Norwich joined the children of Horsford Church of England Primary School as they celebrated 50 years in Mill Lane, Horsford.
Year 6 prefects welcomed Bishop Graham and took him on a tour of the school. The Bishop also talked to staff and governors and heard stories about the school over the past 50 years, including tales of the outdoor swimming pool and changes in technology.
Executive Head Teacher Mrs Best-White talked about the many lives that have shaped the school’s story, and its Christian foundations of courage, compassion, and responsibility.
Bishop Graham led a reflection as part of a special anniversary service. It included the story of the wise man and the foolish man and the children learned how Horsford Primary serves as a rock for their community.
Bishop Graham closed with a blessing and hopes for the next 50 years.
Other guests included the Rector of Horsford, Revd Margaret McPhee, and Chris Allen from the Diocese of Norwich.
Celebrations continue with an open afternoon for people to enjoy looking through old photographs and logbooks, and sharing memories.
