The confirmation was held at St Mary & All Saints’ Church, Little Walsingham during the 11am Parish Mass. The Bishop of Richborough, the Rt Revd Norman Banks, administered the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Among the socially-distanced congregation were the families of those being confirmed, there to support them. The Mass was accompanied by the organ, and the Revd Harri Williams sang the Veni Creator as a solo cantor.
The three candidates who were confirmed were:
- Mel Fielding; 42 years of age, a mother of four and grandmother of two, who runs her own cleaning business.
- Charlie Wilson; 30 years of age, a mother of four children.
- Zac Green; 23 years of age, about to study English at Wolfson College, Cambridge. A former employee of the Shrine of Our Lady of Walsingham and a keen member of several local amateur dramatic groups.
About the confirmations, Revd Harri Williams, Priest-in-Charge of the Walsingham Benefice said, “Having been postponed in May due to the COVID restrictions, it has been a great joy to enable this service of Confirmation to take place within the Parish Mass today. These three candidates each bring with them different gifts to our Church family and they are continued signs of the growth of the Church here in Walsingham in both faith and number.”
