Tacolneston & Morley CofE Primary Schools join St Benet’s Multi Academy Trust

Richard Cranmer, CEO of St Benet’s Trust said: “We have a strong track record as a Trust of working with small Church of England Primaries and Federations, supporting them to find success. We could not be more delighted to fully welcome these two primary schools under the Tacolneston and Morley Federation to our Trust.”

Executive Headteacher, Mrs Laura Green said: “We have been working with St Benet’s Multi Academy Trust for over a year under their Associate Members scheme which has been both insightful and beneficial in moving over to being an Academy.  We have had immense support throughout the process, and it is an ideal way of finding out for sure that the fit was right for our schools.  From June 1st 2022, we became part of St Benet’s and it is a very exciting time for the Tacolneston and Morley Federation.”

She added: “Both staff and parents have been very supportive of the move, as it is a good next step for our staff and our pupils.  We have already received excellent English and Maths teacher training and curriculum support which has been beneficial to our staff and our children.”

The work with St Benet’s included staff, leadership and governance development opportunities as well as remote learning and technological support. There is also curriculum development and the opportunity to work one-to-one with leaders in this field.

Furthermore, the work includes school development support, auditing and training and support with procurement, HR, legal and financial management.

Morley has 143 pupils and employs 24 staff and Tacolneston has 98 pupils and 20 staff and both schools are rated as ‘Good’ in the latest Ofsted Reports.
