Primary class walk raises money for local food bank

Fry class at Caston Church of England Primary Academy raised just over £100 for Watton Food Bank by doing a sponsored walk where the class of four-to-six-year-olds walked 10 laps, nearly 2.5 miles, around the school field.

Sarah Disney, Executive Head Teacher of Caston Church of England Primary Academy, run by Diocese of Norwich Education and Academies Trust (DNEAT), said: “The children decided to do this after learning about Rosa Parks and Malala Yousafzai and how they made a positive change in the world. They wanted to see if they could make their own change and help other people.”
She added: “We are immensely proud of their grown-up attitude and how they wanted to make their own difference to the area they live in.”
