Mary and Joe Bring Christmas Glow to Norwich Market

The knitted figures will be travelling around Norwich Market’s stalls, spending each day at a different location in the leadup to the Norwich Market and Retail Carol Service on Tuesday 17 December at 5:15pm.  The Revd Graham Kirk-Spriggs explained;

“A Posada is a tradition from South America. A statue of Mary, Joseph and a Donkey goes on a journey before Christmas. This symbolises the journey that Mary and Joseph took to Bethlehem. We’re really excited to partner with Market stall holders, to bring this tradition to Norwich. And tell the Story of Christmas all over again.”

“We want everyone to feel they can have a part in the Christmas story. Old or young. Whatever people’s faith. We want to bring some Christmas cheer and a smile to their faces. We’d love to see everyone involved at the Carol Service.”

Visitors to the Market can tweet when they’ve found the figures with #findtrevor or #norwichmarketposada.
