Hundreds of people enjoyed the Eaton Parishes Garden Party which took place in the St Andrew’s vicarage garden on Saturday 4 June, as part of the Parishes Platinum Jubilee Celebrations.
Marian Prinsley, Deputy to the Lord Lieutenant of Norfolk, the Lady Dannatt, opened the Garden Party and presented two Coronavirus plaques to Christ Church and St Andrew’s, Eaton respectively.
The plaques are engraved with the words “to commemorate our community’s resilience in the year of the pandemic 2020-2021” and were awarded to localities who demonstrated strength over this difficult time. Their presentation was delayed due to COVID-19.
In addition to the many stalls, selling everything from bric-a-brac to books, there was a raffle, an auction of promises, a selection of cakes and savoury items to consume and hot food from Radu’s kitchen. Fashion outlet, “The Style Show” was also present and a jazz quintet from Norwich High School entertained people as they browsed, ate and chatted.
The garden party raised over £3,200 which will help fund children and youth activities in Eaton.
