St Julian’s church, one of the oldest churches in the city, was largely destroyed by bombing in 1942 and was rebuilt in 1953. It is very much alive and well used, as it houses the Shine of the great C14 mystic Julian of Norwich who spent much of her life living and praying here. Highlights of the building include a Norman doorway, a fine C15 font, stained glass by King of Norwich and an early C20 reredos.
Gifts, books, hospitality and amenities are available in the Julian Centre next door to the church, open 10.30am to 3.30 pm Monday to Saturday.
