Our Benefice

The Benefice consists of six rural churches of varying sizes, and St John’s, in the market town of Harleston.  Harleston is a town that is growing in size and importance, offering a new incumbent a fertile mission field and exciting opportunities.

Our Vision

To enable people across our Benefice to come to know God and His unconditional love as revealed through His Son, our Saviour, Jesus Christ.

What is the task?

• To preach the Gospel message to this part of the Waveney Valley;

• To build up and encourage our churches to be the focal points of our communities:

• To continue and to lead our work with the wider community;

• To grow our congregations through outreach activities, including use of social media;

• to develop our work within our schools in Harleston and Scole.

We seek a Spirit-filled priest who:

• will give us lively preaching and teaching, relevant to daily life;

• is comfortable with a variety of worship styles;

• will continue to encourage and develop pastoral care across the team;

• understands the challenges of ministry in market towns and rural villages

• is committed to encouraging links with schools, families, young people and the community;

• has a collaborative leadership style and will continue to encourage and grow the ministry team.
