The Revd PJ, Curate at St Thomas said:
“We organised the Light Party for children and families in the local area, as an alternative celebration to Halloween to share the message that there is always a light and a hope to be found in the darkness.
“We had approximately 200 attendees, the majority of which were families who don’t normally attend church but had received invites through the local primary schools.
“We had a fantastic time and the children loved the UV paint, games, party bags and giant bouncy castle! It was a brilliant opportunity to bring the local community together; we were so pleased to hear that unchurched families left feeling comfortable in the church building and wanting to come back, and that they were so grateful for the love and support the church was giving their children.
“We are thankful for our amazing Kids Team volunteers who so relentlessly pour themselves into building into the lives of young people in our area through the church work and Sports Factory local schools work. We pray that this event and future children’s events will continue to build up the church within the local community and that as a result, we will see the lives of young people transformed by Jesus.”
