Join the Diocese of Norwich as our Religious Education and Christian Distinctiveness Manager and help shape the spiritual and educational landscape of our church and community schools.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support schools in leading, teaching, and assessing Religious Education (RE)
  • Advise on strategic planning and curriculum development for RE
  • Maintain links with RE subject leaders and follow up on SIAMS reports
  • Run RE CPD and induction training for school leaders and teachers
  • Promote RE resources and national schemes such as REQM
  • Work with key regional and national partners such as SACRE and the National Society Education Office
  • Lead and develop teacher networks and training
  • Support the development of RE, SIAMS and Christian Distinctiveness in our Diocesan Multi Academy Trusts
  • Travel to work in schools across our diocese

What We’re Looking For

  • Qualified Teacher Status with leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of Church of England expectations for RE and SIAMS
  • A deep knowledge of RE and a passion for educating young people
  • A good communicator and able to work as part of the Parish Support Team
  • Confident to take your own initiative
  • Demonstrate a strong record of classroom practice in RE
  • Can build effective relationships with adults in schools and parishes
  • Experience of the SIAMS inspection process and be familiar with expectations for Church of England schools regarding collective worship
