On Monday, the Bishop of Lynn, the Rt Revd Dr Jane Steen visited Corton House to meet with the residents and staff there.

Corton House was established over 70 years ago as the first purpose built voluntary run care home for older people in England. It was hailed as a pioneer in social care.

Today, it continues to operate as a not for profit charity with a Christian ethos. The team’s mission is to provide excellent, loving care and support for older people, in line with Christian values.

Bishop Jane said;

 “It was a pleasure to visit the residents at Corton House and to be able to listen to them and to pray with them.  There is such a wealth of Christian living among residents and a great sense of joyful calm in the House.”

The whole building has recently been refurbished with fresh paint, flooring and furniture. The reception area has been opened up to make it more light and spacious.
