The Doorway of Hope service for anyone who has lost a baby took place at Norwich Cathedral
Each year, during baby loss awareness week, there is a special service of remembrance, organised by TimeNorfolk, a Christian charity. This year it took place on 9 October at Norwich Cathedral. During the service, there is an opportunity to light a candle and write in the TimeNorfolk book of remembrance. A spokesperson for the charity said;
“Many people who experience pregnancy loss feel they don’t get the chance to say goodbye, the Doorway of Hope service can enable some to do this.”
TimeNorfolk is a charity which provides free support to anyone who has experienced pregnancy loss, no matter how long ago. Counsellors support anyone, whether the experience of loss is through termination, miscarriage or stillbirth. The charity also provides support if you are pregnant and unsure what you want to do, providing the space to think about options or about who to tell first.
Lindsey Nettleton is Head of Counselling;
“I love the role and all it brings. The staff team share a Christian faith which sustains us when alongside those grieving pregnancy loss or facing an unplanned pregnancy. I feel privileged to be part of an organisation that cares for people in their darkest places and seeing hope grow in often unexpected ways.”
