Archbishop Sancroft High School (ASHS) and Open Academy both achieved good results this year with those at Open Academy achieving 60% Grades 9 – 4 in English and Maths which equalled last year’s results. Archbishop Sancroft High School achieved 69% at Grade 4 or above.

“I’m thrilled that this year’s results equalled last year’s with the highest grades in the Academy’s history. We can celebrate some great performances and some great results. We have matched our GCSE record, but behind those stories are some incredible achievements on the part of both staff and students, some transformational social mobility opportunities opened up, and some prayers answered! As always we will celebrate the great, learn from the experience and apply what we have learnt for the improvement journey for the year ahead”

“This is a hugely impressive achievement. It represents consistent hard work by the young people at Open Academy, and the staff that have taught and supported them. The results highlight Open’s ongoing improvement as an academy, and act as a platform for future improvement. The young people who have achieved these outcomes can now go on to their next stage of education, training or employment with the knowledge and skills that they need.”
Rob Connelly, Head of School for ASHS said:
“I am delighted with our results. The priority this year, alongside embedding the new curriculum, was to ensure the number of students achieving the highest possible grades (7-9) increased in all curriculum areas. The input from all members of the school community promoting effective challenge has had a significant impact on the outcomes for the class of 2019. I am incredibly grateful for the support received from the staff, parents, governors and St Benet’s MAT, enabling all members of this very special community to flourish.”

It has been a real privilege this year to watch the strong links develop across all of the schools in St Benet’s MAT and there is no doubt that this closer collaboration between staff is encouraging improvements across the board”.
