Mrs Dalley who is a teacher at the school explains more:

It all started when pupils, staff and parents felt that they really wanted to help after witnessing the tragic events unfold in Ukraine. It was soon decided that a sponsored Danceathon would be the perfect way of raising money while having fun too.

The Danceathon went fantastically and was great fun, we have received amazing feedback about how much the children enjoyed themselves.

We were hoping to raise about £1,000 and we raised over £4,000! And that’s thanks to all our wonderful pupils, staff, families, and local community who participated and supported us. We are all so proud of what the children and staff have achieved.

One Year 6 child said: “I wanted to raise as much money as I could for the Ukraine Appeal, if I had to leave my house and I was in their shoes I would be so scared”.

The whole school community is feeling humbled by the generosity of local people. The money donated to the British Red Cross will help to provide food, warm clothes, and other aid to people sheltering in Ukraine.
