Grief Awareness Week

In recognition of this, Norfolk County Council and Norfolk and Waveney CCG are working in partnership to launch a Grief Awareness Campaign called ‘Taking the time to heal’.

The mission of Grief Awareness Week is as follows:

  • to help the bereaved feel acknowledged and understood
  • to help those grieving and the professionals working with them, to find the support they need now
  • to help those supporting their grieving friends and family to know what to say and do
  • to help the smaller support organisations raise their profile and reach those in need in the community

How can you get involved?
COVID-19 has really brought bereavement to the forefront and you can take part in the week in a number of ways:

  1. Host an event
If you would like to host an event (or have already organised an event) for Grief Awareness and would like it promoted please fill in the form below and return to Debra Lawrence-Bell. You’ll find lots of ideas for events on the form too. We’ll create a list of all the events taking place and share them with other partners.
  2. Register your organisation/group on the relevant bereavement directories.
Norfolk County Council are launching a new central page of bereavement resources and directories. They want any groups that offer bereavement support, or wider support for those who may be lonely from bereavement (e.g. coffee groups, men’s-sheds etc) to register on the following directories; Norfolk Directory and Ataloss Directory
