After a few months of careful planning the Horstead Centre is now open and available for bookings!
As the only Diocesan Activity Centre in the country their mission is “to provide young people with the best opportunities for educational, personal, spiritual and social development through residential and day visits.”
Will Mills, Horstead Centre Manager said: “We have a rigorous COVID Secure Plan in place and we can take bookings for day visits from now! The team are genuinely excited about getting back to what we do best. We are well aware that the wellbeing of young people and children particularly has been tested this year, and we believe that an experience in the outdoors, be that adventurous or mindful, with friends, colleagues or family, is at least part of the antidote.”
For those who have not yet visited, the Horstead Centre occupies a beautiful old rectory on the River Bure in Horstead. The stunning walled garden and enclosed woodland host a range of activities from canoeing and rock climbing, to environmental art and camp cookery. With over 50 years’ experience the Centre specialises in the provision of residential stays, retreats and activity days.
As well as being able to cater for residential groups of up to 60, this year they are also encouraging families and smaller youth groups to visit.
Follow the Horstead Centre on Facebook and Instagram for more special offers and events or contact Will, the Centre Manager to discuss a booking for your group or family.
Under current guidance, residential bookings will be available from Monday 17 May.
