A nationwide silence takes place at 11am on Friday 24 February 2023 to mark a year since the beginning of the invasion.
In King’s Lynn, the Ukrainian flag will be flown from the council building and both the Corn Exchange and Custom House will be lit up in blue and yellow. At King’s Lynn Minster, Revd Mark Dimond will lead a candlelit prayer vigil at 6pm on Friday 24 February.
In Norwich, there is a prayer vigil at 5pm on Sunday 26 February at Norwich Cathedral.
Churches across Norfolk and Waveney will also be marking the anniversary with special services over the weekend. All our welcome and invited to gather to pray for peace. Since the start of the war, hundreds of Ukrainian families have been supported by host families across the region.

Almighty and everlasting God,
you hate nothing that you have made
and forgive the sins of all those who are penitent:
create and make in us new and contrite hearts
that we, worthily lamenting our sins
and acknowledging our wretchedness,
may receive from you, the God of all mercy,
perfect remission and forgiveness;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
