Coffee for change – let the Chancellor hear your voice!

St John’s Church in King’s Lynn was the final church to host the Climate Pilgrims on their recent relay from Great Yarmouth to King’s Lynn. They wanted to build on that symbolic action and have decided to hold a coffee morning to provide a community opportunity to write an email or letter to Rishi Sunak, ahead of the UN climate summit in Glasgow in November.

The Revd Becca Rogers says: “Many of us want to speak up about our concerns for the environment, but it’s hard to know how to go about it. A chance to have a coffee and write letters together gives a focus and momentum, and probably means that lots more of us will remember to write about this very important issue!”

Bishop Graham has urged us all to become “urgent eco apostles” in his recent video message. Perhaps you could host a coffee morning to take this action? You could simply add it to a regular coffee time after a Sunday service or to another group event, such as a parent and toddler group or a youth group. Or consider holding a Climate Sunday service and have that as one of the activities.
