Hingham

Thank you for your interest in this post, as together we seek to discern who God may be calling to serve as Priest in Charge of the High Oak, Hingham, Scoulton and Woodrising Benefice, and the Shellrock (Great Ellingham) Benefice as we bring these two benefices together.

The benefices have been working together since March 2022 in preparation for the proposed merger.

Introduction

This position is an exciting prospect. It is an opportunity for someone, with a clear vision for  church growth, to enthuse, lead and enable the committed teams of ministers and lay people already in place; praying and working together collaboratively for increase in the Kingdom of God.

There is immense potential for revitalising and unifying church life across the new benefice through sensitive listening and sharing of resources to develop programmes of outreach – both within the traditional local communities and within the significant areas of new housing.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Someone with a deep Christian faith.
  • Someone with a calling to church growth, who is able to develop creative and sensitive programmes according to differing local circumstances.
  • A confident leader who loves people and who will value, respect and work collaboratively with, ministry team members from across a spectrum of churchmanship.
  • Someone who feels comfortable teaching about Christian giving.
  • Someone who will love this special part of rural Norfolk as their home.
