Norfolk Churches Trust Bike Ride 2022

Each year the Norfolk Churches Trust Bike Ride event raises thousands of pounds for churches in Norfolk.  In fact, since the event began in 1983, participants have raised over four million pounds. This year, the event is taking place on Saturday 10 September 2022 and all the money you raise will be split between the church of your choice and the Norfolk Churches Trust.

The money makes a huge difference in preserving Norfolk’s iconic and beautiful churches.

Even if you’re not a keen cyclist, you can still take part using any type of transport. How about walking, running, driving, horseriding or using a boat? The main aim is to enjoy your day visiting these beautiful places of worship, raising money as you go. Why not pack a picnic, bring your family or get a group from church and make a day of it.

And if you’re competitive, there are some more great reasons to take part. The person who raises the most money is awarded the Prince of Wales certificate. There are also prizes for the cyclist who visits the most churches and the walkers who visit the most too.  Last year the top cyclist was Keith Gilbert who visited 61 places of worship!

Or you can take it slowly and admire the beautiful Norfolk churches and countryside. The Bike Ride committee also love seeing pictures of people enjoying the day, so send in your photos of the day. Three people will receive £50 for the photographs the committee enjoy the most which may also get published in the EDP.
