Fighting youth homelessness with YMCA Norfolk

Bishop Ian and Paul Dunning

For years, YMCA Norfolk has joined forces with YMCAs across the UK in the mammoth Sleep Easy event, raising crucial funds to combat youth homelessness. Since 2010, over 7,000 brave volunteers have slept rough, collecting £1.5 million for YMCA services that empower young people to rebuild their lives.

This year, leading by example are the Bishop of Thetford, the Right Revd Ian Bishop, and Paul Dunning, Director of Education. They’ll be braving the cold on the evening of Friday 8 March to raise awareness and funds.

Your donations will provide vital support for at-risk youth, including:

  • Emergency accommodation
  • Counseling and life coaching
  • Employment support
  • And much more!

Bishop Ian says “I’m delighted to be supporting the brilliant work of the YMCA. My wife has worked for the YM for 20 years. They do amazing work that transforms people’s lives. I really hope we can raise some money to support the projects that make a difference to people. I’m also really looking forward to spending time with people working together for good.”

Paul adds “Going out of your comfort zone is character building I’m told! The work of the YMCA is so important in supporting young adults that I’m nervously and excitedly going out of my comfort zone to raise money for such a great charity.  Please support us as we sleep outside on the evening of 8 March.”
