All Saints Church Filby lies in the picturesque village of Filby close to the Norfolk Broads and country walks , the Church has been described as a gem, and the most Beautiful in the east Fleggs. The present Church dates back to the C14 and has a fifteenth century Tower. The Rood Screen of 1450 is one of the few surviving pre-Reformation painted screens, it is considered second only to the one at Ranworth, which are attributed to the same school of Norfolk craftsmen. There are seven beautiful stained glass windows, some containing some curious French glass .
Extensive re-ordering work has been carried out over the last five years making the Church fit for purpose In the C21. With the removal of the North and South Aisle pews, we have created a more open space enabling us to enhance Messy Church, hold concerts and community events. The carved pews ends have all been incorporated in the building of storage cupboards and the new vestry . There are two Holy Communion services a month ,with other services as and when for festivals. All welcome, especially children for which we have a dedicated children’s corner .
