School Governor vacancies – Flourish Federation
Posted on: Friday 2 October 2020
Seeking volunteers to join the Governing body for a Federation of schools
The Governing Body is responsible for the strategic management of the schools and will make decisions about a wide range of issues. The Governing Body has 13 members when all vacancies are filled; we are currently operating with six people.
Governing bodies have three core functions:
- Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent
- Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils
- Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction
The time commitment for a governor is around 8 – 16 hours a month including the time needed to do the relevant reading, monitoring visits to the schools and meetings.
