The newly merged benefices of Briningham and Briston are looking for a new Priest in Charge will bring enthusiasm, drive and leadership to the development and success of this new benefice.

The neighbouring Benefices of Briningham and Briston – situated in lovely North Norfolk – have agreed to merge. It is hoped that the Rector Designate will bring enthusiasm, drive and leadership to the development and success of this new benefice.

The benefice are offering:

  • Good relationships between the churches and their communities
  • Strong commitment to the development of this new benefice
  • Self-reliant CWs and laity looking for the right person to guide them
  • A Reader and a small team of committed Authorised Worship Assistants
  • A beautiful part of the world, near the sea, with excellent facilities
  • A modern, four-bedroom house with solar panels

We are seeking someone:

  • Who can help us grow in faith by bringing our nine parishes into a cohesive whole while respecting their differences and preferences
  • Who can encourage, lead and participate in outreach activities with our church school, families and young people
  • Who is comfortable with both traditional and more contemporary worship and who can develop forms of worship to attract families and young people
  • Who has strong pastoral skills and will engage with people both inside and outside the church community
  • Who can work with our Reader, the small team of AWAs and other committed laity to maximise the enormous potential of this merger
  • Who is friendly and approachable, a good communicator and manager – able to bring out the best in others
