The Governing Board of Pulham Church of England VC Primary School wish to appoint an exceptional individual who is highly motivated and inspirational as their Headteacher.

The successful candidate will have the skills and experience to ensure continued opportunities for growth and success for our pupils and staff, as the school continues on its improvement journey. We need someone with unwavering drive and vision to lead us into the next phase of our school’s future as we continue to live out our Christian vision and ‘Shine like lights in the world’.  They will be expected to maintain positive relationships with colleagues, governors, parents, the local church, and the community.

Our school is centered in the heart of the Pulhams. It has close relationships with the community that surrounds it, and a committed, active Parent Teacher Association. The voice of the School Council also plays an important part in decision making adding an important element to the school.

Wellbeing is at the heart of the school for pupils, staff, and parents/carers and this contributes to a high level of success within the school.

They are looking for a dedicated and professional Headteacher who will:

  • Demonstrate strong leadership skills
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Establish a creative and responsive approach to teaching and learning and contribute to the development of collaborative practices and processes within the school
  • Demonstrate the ability to empower all children to take an active part in their own learning and achieve their potential in a positive and creative environment
  • Uphold and develop the Christian ethos and aims of the school and its children

In return they are proud to offer you:

  • An exciting opportunity to become headteacher of a popular and successful school
  • Enthusiastic, happy children who have a positive approach to learning
  • Friendly children, supportive parents/carers, and excellent community relationships
  • A committed and passionate team of dedicated staff and an engaged and effective Governing Board
  • Opportunities for further professional development

Please read the information pack, job description and person specification along with a visit to their website.

Potential candidates are more than welcome to visit the school and experience what is on offer.  Please contact Gill Hipwell (Vice Chair of Governors) for an informal discussion and to arrange a visit.  Given the current circumstances, visitors to the school will be required to undertake a lateral flow test and wear masks.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The appointment is subject to regulatory checks including an enhanced-level DBS check and Safer Recruitment checks including pre-employment checks and receipt of satisfactory references. We are an equal opportunities employer.
