Posted on: Wednesday 7 February 2024
A new Chair is sought for the Board of Trustees of the Julian of Norwich Partnership.
The Julian of Norwich Partnership seeks to offer a unified approach to the development of the
mission and ministry focused on the Cell of Mother Julian of Norwich, a place at the heart of
Norwich, known and loved across the world.
The Partnership brings together the work of All Hallows Guesthouse, the Julian Centre (visitor
centre), the Church, Cell and grounds, sometimes called ‘the Julian Campus’. Registered as a CIO,
the Julian Partnership is supported by the Diocese of Norwich, Norwich Cathedral, the Parish of
Timberhill, the Community of All Hallows, the Friends of Julian of Norwich and other partners
from across the city.
Working together it aims to provide a fitting way to honour and keep alive the influence of the life and writings of the internationally renowned Mother Julian.
The Chair of the Board of Trustees oversees the strategic leadership of the Partnership, and has
the following principal responsibilities:
- Leading the Board of Trustees;
- Ensuring that the Partnership has a clear vision, mission and strategic plan, and that there is
a common understanding of these by the Executive and the Trustees;
- Providing support, care and supervision for the Priest Director;
- Maintaining relationships with constituent Partner organisations and other bodies;
- Acting as a figurehead or spokesperson when required.
The time commitment is approximately the equivalent of 2 hours per week but this is not
spread evenly across the year. The appointment will be for an initial period of four years and
renewable for a further four years.
There is no remuneration for the role, but all expenditure incurred in the discharge of the
Chair’s duties may be claimed and reimbursed.
