Posted on: Monday 3 June 2024

The Norwich Diocesan Board of Finance (NDBF) aims to promote, facilitate, and assist with the work and purposes of the Church of England for the advancement of the Christian faith in the Diocese of Norwich and elsewhere, providing resources for Ministry and Mission.

The Glebe Committee is responsible for overseeing the management and development of the Glebe portfolio, which comprises nearly 5,800 acres of land, mostly leased to tenant farmers. There is also commercial property held in subsidiary called Norwich Glebe Property Ltd. The total current rent roll is slightly in excess of £800,000.

The committee oversees the management and development of the Glebe portfolio, approving and overseeing significant glebe developments.

The main purpose of the Chair is to lead the Committee to achieve the strategy agreed with the Asset Management Committee. Currently this is to maximise the Glebe land rental income and sales for the benefit of the Diocesan Stipends Fund, this includes the negotiation of leases and tenancies, rent reviews, the collection of rents, the payment of outgoings, the carrying out of repairs and improvements.
