Stewardship materials
Materials to help and support you to run a giving review and create a culture of generosity in your parish
As part of our Diocesan Vision we are called to live a life of generous stewardship in response to God’s gifts to us.
The scriptures clearly guide us when we think about our stewardship. Each and everyone of us are called to be better disciples.
Starting with prayer, our giving needs to be in response to
- God’s grace
- God’s love for us
As Christians we acknowledge that God has generously offered us nothing short of life through Jesus Christ. We have the opportunity to support others in recognition of God’s grace for us. This support takes shape in many forms, with financial gifts being the backbone that builds our church community and gives us the opportunity to play a part in God’s work.
Our giving needs to be
- Prayerful
- Proportional
- Planned
- Joyfully given
Stewardship is an important part of our Christian way of life as it enables mission and ministry to help our Church grow. On this page there are some resources to help you promote stewardship in your parish. The Generous Giving Advisers would welcome the opportunity to help in any way that they can.
Have you thought of taking part in The National Generosity Week. There is a wealth of resources available https://www.churchofengland.org/resources/building-generous-church/generosity-week . As a parish you can dip in and out and adopt those pieces which suit your particular parish best. Why not have a look to see what suits your needs.
