Thousands attend North Walsham Children’s Day

Speaking about the day Priest in Charge, the Revd David Warner said:

“It was great to welcome back this wonderful day in North Walsham’s calendar. The event is organised in conjunction with North Walsham Play, and is a family day for all of our community, with costs and charges kept low (through generous grants from various organisations) to ensure that all families can take part. The church, halls, and churchyard were filled to capacity with several thousand attending across the day – we had a climbing wall and alpacas, barn owls, craft stalls, costumed mascots, live music, refreshment stands and lots more. Our MP Duncan Baker, Mayor Gary Bull, I did a session ‘in the stocks’ with wet sponges flying! A great day was had, and more than £2500 raised, which is split between the church and North Walsham Play.

“The church intends to use part of the funds to pay for the access equipment to change the church lighting for energy-efficient LED units, and the rest will be put to our ongoing mission and ministry. We’re so very grateful for this hugely fruitful partnership and look forward to Children’s day 2023, which will be even bigger and better!”
