New leadership team at Harleston schools

Planned and managed by St Benet’s Multi Academy Trust, the new leadership team will begin the start of an intended development which will result in all-through schooling from three years to 16 years.

Mr Rob Connelly has been appointed Executive Headteacher for the Harleston Federation and he will be the lead for both Archbishop Sancroft High School and Harleston Primary Academy from September.

Taking over from Miss Holgate, Mr Mark Carlyle has been appointed Head of School of Harleston Primary Academy and he will take the lead for the primary phase under the line management of Mr Connelly.

Deputy Headteacher, Mrs Jane Price and a new Assistant Headteacher, Mr Dan Stagg, will also start in September, to further strengthen the Senior Leadership Team at Harleston Primary.

Richard Cranmer, CEO of St Benet’s Multi Academy Trust said: “Achieving a closer working relationship between the two schools in Harleston has been the plan for some time. In 2019 the two governing bodies federated and earlier this year both leadership teams started working more closely together.

“This latest step, the appointment of Mr Connelly as the Executive Headteacher, will provide the strategic leadership to take this project to the next stage. The vision of the Trust Board is that we create one ‘all-through school’ to provide a very high standard of education seamlessly from the age of 3-16 for the children and young people of Harleston. In September, Mr Connelly will lead a very strong and experienced team of school leaders across both primary and secondary phases, all of whom look forward to making this vision happen during the coming months.”

Mr Rob Connelly, the newly appointed, Executive Headteacher for the Harleston Federation said: “The Harleston Federation represents a very significant milestone for this very special community. I am delighted to have been appointed as the Executive Headteacher and look forward to continuing my work alongside the staff, students and families to ensure the very best school experience for all.

“The future of both schools and ultimately the formation of an All-Through School will be supported by ensuring exceptional staff provide the foundations and consistency required to experience ‘Life in all its fullness’.”
